Specialty Battery Project's Ultra-low Temperature Batteries Successfully Trial Run at Natural Gas Wellheads in Inner Mongolia

Recently, the ultra-low temperature lithium iron phosphate battery 35ah developed by Specialty Battery Project has successfully entered into on-site trial operation at the natural gas wellhead of Mongolia, after several rounds of simulation tests under working conditions. The R&D personnel of the project team completed the installation and debugging of the battery with the customer on site, and has been continuously monitored for two weeks, with smooth battery operation and good feedback from the customer.

It is understood that the natural gas wellheads need to be configured by the energy storage battery and solar photovoltaic panels composed of optical storage system for pipeline remote control valves and monitoring instruments such as power supply. Because the lowest temperature of natural gas wellheads in Inner Mongolia is lower than -25in winter, it often leads to lead-acid batteries or ordinary lithium-ion batteries can not work in this condition, which seriously affects the natural gas extraction and transportation at the wellheads, and becomes a pain point for the customers.

The ultra-low-temperature lithium iron phosphate battery developed in this project is not afraid of the cold environment, and can still be discharged at -55and charged at -20, which has the significant advantages of high capacity of low-temperature charging and discharging, low self-discharge, long cycle life, and short maintenance cycle. The trial run successfully solved the customer's pain point problem, broadened the application field of ultra-low temperature battery products, and provided strong support for the subsequent promotion of the product.
